The Bath Where Wellness Actually Happens
There's a moment, somewhere in the design of a luxury bathroom, when the conversation turns from "what should the room look like" to "what is the room actually for." For a growing number of our clients, the answer is the same: the bathroom should be the place where the day finally lets go of you. Where a long bath stops being a chore and starts being therapy.
That's what Oceania makes.
Founded in 1995 in Thetford Mines, Québec, Oceania is a family-owned Canadian manufacturer that has spent three decades doing one thing exceptionally well — designing and building therapeutic baths and showers that genuinely deliver on the promise of a home spa. It's quiet, careful work, and it's the reason Oceania has become the bath specification of choice for some of the most sophisticated wellness-driven projects in North America.
Air Baths, Not Whirlpools
The first thing to understand about Oceania is that they specialize in air baths, not whirlpool jets — and the difference matters more than most homeowners realize.
Traditional jetted whirlpool tubs recirculate water through internal piping. Over years of use, those pipes become a near-impossible-to-clean breeding ground for biofilm and bacteria. They're loud. They're hot. And they've largely fallen out of favor with serious wellness designers for exactly those reasons.
An Oceania air bath does something fundamentally different. Strategically placed jets release pre-heated, dry air into the bathwater, creating a soft, all-over effervescent massage that feels less like a Jacuzzi and more like the natural mineral springs they're modeled on. The air is filtered, it's hygienic, and after every use, an automated dry cycle clears the air channels completely — sensors confirm zero residual moisture before shutting down. No standing water. No bacterial growth. No clinical maintenance routine.
Cutting-Edge Engineering, Quietly
Oceania's AeroMassage™ system places 30 to 60 flush, easy-clean air jets along the lower perimeter of the bath. The Super AeroMassage™ adds 12 additional jets along the bottom for full-body coverage — up to 72 jets in total. Both are powered by Oceania's proprietary Tranquility Plus™ blower, engineered to operate at just 68 decibels. You can hold a conversation in the bath while the system is running.
A few of the engineering details worth knowing:
- Pre-heated air — Oceania is one of the only manufacturers that warms the air before it enters the water. The result is a bath that runs roughly 20% warmer than competing systems and stays warmer longer.
- Antivibration leveling feet — absorb 85% of the mechanical vibration produced by the system, so the bath feels still even when it's working hard.
- Remote blower placement — the blower can be installed up to 12 feet away, allowing the bath itself to be installed in spaces where mechanical noise would be unacceptable.
- Sloped air channels with automatic dry cycle — every channel is angled to drain completely, and humidity sensors trigger the drying program automatically, even after a simple soak.
- Eight hours of water testing — every single Oceania therapeutic bath is tested for up to 8 hours before it leaves the factory. This is the most stringent quality protocol in the industry.
- 20-year limited warranty — on the structure, the surface, and the blower system. Oceania is one of the only manufacturers willing to put that in writing.
Five Real Wellness Benefits
Oceania doesn't market wellness as an aesthetic — they design for clinical effect. Daily use of an Oceania air bath supports:
- Skin cleansing — the gentle agitation lifts impurities and stimulates circulation at the skin's surface
- Muscle relaxation — broad, even pressure relieves tension across the back, shoulders, and legs
- Circulatory stimulation — the warm air-water combination supports vasodilation and blood flow
- Stress and tension release — pulse, wave, and variable-speed modes give the nervous system something to follow
- Metabolic stimulation — sustained warmth and gentle pressure assist lymphatic and metabolic recovery
These aren't aspirational claims. They're the documented physiological effects of regular hydrotherapy — the same effects that drove the European spa tradition for two hundred years.
Optional Therapies
The therapy bath can be specified with any combination of the following:
- Thermotherapy — Oceania's heated backrest (the Cozier) provides gentle, even warmth across the back during a soaking bath, even when the air system isn't running
- Chromatherapy — programmable LED color therapy in the bath itself, with documented mood and circadian benefits
- Aromatherapy compatibility — Oceania baths are engineered to accept essential oils, bath salts, and bath teas without damage to surfaces or systems (Wintergreen excluded)
A Bath for Every Bathroom
Oceania's product range is as broad as any luxury bath manufacturer in the market:
- Freestanding baths in contemporary, classic, and slipper silhouettes
- Drop-In and Undermount baths for built-in deck installations
- Alcove, 2-Side, and 3-Side configurations for traditional layouts
- Optimale custom series — designed and built to your project's specific dimensions
- A complete shower range including bases, doors, and acrylic enclosures
Whether the project calls for a freestanding centerpiece in a primary suite or a more discreet alcove installation in a secondary bath, Oceania has a configuration that fits. And because they're manufactured in Québec rather than Europe, lead times are measured in weeks, not months — a meaningful advantage on tight construction schedules.
For the Atlanta Homeowner
If you've been thinking seriously about a freestanding tub, you've probably already noticed that most of what's on the market is purely sculptural — beautiful to look at, ordinary to bathe in. An Oceania air bath is the one that earns its place in the room every day, not just on the day of the photoshoot. It's the bath that becomes the reason you actually look forward to the end of the day.
For the Designer or Architect
Oceania specifies cleanly across virtually every primary-suite and wellness-focused project we work on. The breadth of the range (six bath configurations, multiple sizes within each, the full Optimale custom program) makes Oceania one of the most flexible specifications in the Forte portfolio. Construction documents, technical drawings, and integration details are excellent. The North American manufacturing means lead times are predictable, freight damage is rare, and warranty service — should it ever be needed — is straightforward.
For projects with explicit wellness, accessibility, or aging-in-place considerations, Oceania's air-bath therapy systems, heated backrests, and chromatherapy options elevate the specification from "nice tub" to "genuine therapeutic equipment" without any of the clinical aesthetic that usually comes with that distinction.
See Them in Person
Oceania baths reveal themselves in three minutes of operation. The sound, the warmth of the pre-heated air, the way the water moves around you — none of it translates to photographs or product specifications. The full Oceania collection is on display in our Roswell showroom, where you can sit in the bath, examine the controls, and let one of our designers walk you through the configuration that fits your project.
