Stone Forest
Bringing Nature's Quiet Beauty Into the Bath, Since 1989
There is a particular kind of beauty that doesn't come from polishing, lacquering, or engineering — it comes from a block of stone, carved by hand, that's allowed to look like what it actually is. Stone Forest is the company that has spent more than thirty-five years quietly perfecting that idea — and the result is a portfolio of bath sinks, vanities, and tubs that look less like fixtures and more like sculptural objects pulled directly from the natural world. We carry Stone Forest at European Kitchen & BathWorks because, in a category dominated by gloss and polish, this is the brand that lets the material speak.
Founded in 1989 in Santa Fe, New Mexico by Michael Zimber — a former climbing and river guide who spent his twenties scaling rock faces in the American West and sculpting stone in his spare time — Stone Forest was born out of a simple ambition: to take what's moving about being in wilderness and bring it into people's homes. Michael's design philosophy has guided the company for three and a half decades: "the design should never speak louder than the stone itself." Today, Stone Forest is a small, family-led studio of artisans and designers, still based in Santa Fe, working in stone, bronze, copper, wood, bamboo, and iron — natural materials shaped by hand.
Why It Matters in Your Home. Most bathroom vanities are MDF wrapped in laminate or veneer — quiet workhorses that disappear into the wall. A Stone Forest vanity does the opposite. Built around an integral stone sink carved from a single block of Carrara marble or honed Antique Gray Limestone, supported by knurled brass legs in aged brass, polished nickel, matte black, or graphite, with wood drawers in walnut or cement gray, every Stone Forest vanity becomes a living centerpiece of the room — warm to the touch, perfectly imperfect in its veining, and built to last several lifetimes.
The Elemental® Collection. Stone Forest's signature Elemental modular system is what makes the brand uniquely flexible for designers and homeowners. Choose your sink — the rectangular Ventus, the sculptural Terra, the linear Trough, or the wall-mount Lumbre — then mix and match brass legs, wood drawers, stone shelves, and steel components in virtually unlimited combinations, all configurable through Stone Forest's online tool. Console vanities, drawer vanities, wall-hung vanities, single and double basins — every piece is designed to coordinate seamlessly.
Award-Winning. The Elemental Collection has been honored with the 2018 Good Design™ Award, Interior Design Magazine's Best of Year (multiple years), the DPHA Furniture Product of the Year, and Better Homes & Gardens' 30 Most Innovative Products.
