Gessi

The Italian Architects of Private Wellness

Some plumbing brands make faucets. Gessi makes water rituals — and over the past three decades, the company has quietly redrawn what a luxury bathroom can be. Founded in 1992 by Umberto Gessi and his son Gian Luca in the small Italian town of Serravalle Sesia in the Valsesia region of Piedmont, Gessi began as a workshop with a single ambition: to challenge the entrenched names dominating Italian bath design. Three decades later — now run by the third generation, Nicolò and Emanuele Gessi — the company is recognized worldwide as the reference point for what they themselves coined: The Private Wellness Company.

That philosophy is why we made Gessi a foundation of the bath collection at European Kitchen & BathWorks. It's also why Gessi sits at the heart of our Health & Wellness Spa positioning. No other manufacturer thinks about the bathroom as systematically — as a sanctuary, a sensory environment, a daily restorative ritual.

Made in Gessi. The company is one of the rare luxury manufacturers that controls every step of production in-house — design, casting, machining, finishing, assembly — within an 800,000-square-meter eco-architectural park outside Milan that produces 40% of its own energy. It holds the unusual triple ISO certification for quality, environment, and worker safety, and was named a Deloitte Best Managed Company in 2025 and one of Mediobanca's eight most dynamic Italian industrial firms.

Architect Collaborations That Define the Catalog. Gessi works with the names that define modern architecture. Kengo Kuma's Incastri collection translates the Japanese joinery tradition of Chidori — interlocking wooden elements — into faucets and basins of remarkable architectural restraint. David Rockwell's Colonna collection unites travertine, crystal-glass, and brass into a sculptural ode to architecture. The Haute Culture line — Jacqueline (bamboo), Perle (with a pearl-like sphere), Ludovica, Riflessioni, and the new Titanio range in solid titanium — reads more like Italian high jewelry than plumbing.

Rituale del Vapore — A 2026 World First. At Milan Design Week 2026, Gessi unveiled the world's first overhead steam system — a domestic spa experience that envelops the body in steam from above, integrating into a standard shower without structural alteration. Combined with chromotherapy, aromatherapy, and the optional Steam + Intenso Flow laminar water mode, it represents the most advanced in-home wellness installation available anywhere.

For Designers and Architects, Gessi specifies cleanly across over 20 finishes — chrome, matte black, brushed bronze PVD, copper PVD, and beyond — with full bath, kitchen, sensor tap, outdoor, and Private Wellness ranges.
