Mitzi
Fresh, Youthful, and Eclectic Lighting from Hudson Valley
There's a particular kind of beauty that comes from someone who has spent a lifetime mixing the right things together — the antique brass sconce paired with a contemporary marble lamp, the heirloom chandelier hung over a modern table, the gallery wall built from pieces collected over decades. That kind of effortless eclecticism is genuinely hard to achieve — it requires a real eye, real patience, and a willingness to let unexpected combinations work. Mitzi is the lighting brand built around exactly that sensibility.
Mitzi was founded in New York's Hudson Valley by the same third-generation Littman family behind Hudson Valley Lighting, Troy, and Corbett — but with a deliberately distinct design voice. The brand is named after Grandma Mitzi, the founder's grandmother, who was a painter and a master antique-finder with the kind of style that mixed classic and contemporary in ways that always looked considered, layered, and entirely her own. The brand carries that sensibility forward into every fixture: real materials — marble, concrete, brass, glass, hand-blown alabaster, fluted ceramic, woven cane — combined with the kind of fresh, design-led restraint that makes a room feel collected rather than decorated. We carry Mitzi at European Kitchen & BathWorks because, in a category where most brands are committed to a single aesthetic, Mitzi gives our clients something genuinely different to work with.
Why It Matters in Your Home. A Mitzi fixture brings a fresh, youthful, eclectic spirit into a room — the kind of energy that makes a beautifully designed home feel lived-in and personal rather than catalog-perfect. The aesthetic mixes confidently across styles: a fluted marble pendant that reads as classical from one angle and contemporary from another; a polished nickel sconce with a shade in unexpected ochre or muted sage; a sculptural floor lamp that wouldn't look out of place in a Paris gallery or a Brooklyn townhouse. Mitzi is the lighting you specify when the room calls for considered, layered character — primary suites, dining rooms, kitchens with a point of view, breakfast nooks, home offices, designed-magazine guest rooms.
Designed With the Most Recognized Names in Interior Design. Mitzi runs the most extensive "Tastemakers" program in the lighting industry, with signature collections from a remarkable roster of contemporary designers: Becki Owens, Mark D. Sikes, Lauren Liess, Colin King, Dabito, Tali Roth, Eny Lee Parker, Ariel Okin, Zoe Feldman, Megan Molten, Mandy Cheng, Hilary Matt, and more. Every Tastemaker brings a recognizable design voice into the catalog — meaning your Mitzi pendant or sconce carries the perspective of a designer whose work appears in Architectural Digest, House Beautiful, Elle Decor, and the design accounts your clients already follow.
The Range. Chandeliers, pendants, wall sconces, bath and vanity lights, flush and semi-flush mounts, floor lamps, and table lamps — across an eclectic palette of materials and an ever-expanding catalog of Tastemaker collaborations.
