Carmine Lacava grew up outside Naples, Italy, shaped by the craft traditions of small Italian design studios — a sensibility he brought to Chicago in 1997 when he founded Lacava.
That European-meets-American story is why Lacava is a foundation of the vanity and washbasin collection at European Kitchen & BathWorks, including the Flutti collection on display in our Atlanta showroom. Lacava products are designed in the European tradition and handmade in Chicago, where state-of-the-art technology meets artisanal craftsmanship.

Carmine Lacava grew up on the slopes outside Naples, looking out from his childhood balcony at Mount Vesuvius — the volcano that buried Pompeii in 79 AD and has stood watch over the Bay of Naples ever since. That view, and the craft traditions of the small Italian design studios all around him, shaped his thinking about what beautiful objects should be: precise, soulful, made by hand, and built to outlast their owners. The Vesuvius silhouette remains Lacava's logo to this day.
Why It Matters in Your Home. Lacava products are designed in the European tradition — where small studios compete fiercely on originality — and handmade in Chicago, where state-of-the-art technology meets artisanal craftsmanship. Wall-mount vanities that float and conceal storage. Handmade concrete sinks in colors and textures that don't exist in porcelain. Solid-surface sinks and tubs, sculpted vessel basins, and fully ADA-compliant vanities and fixtures that don't read as accessibility products. Even the smallest details — drains, traps, valve handles — are designed as part of a coordinated visual language.
The Flutti Collection on Our Showroom Floor. Lacava's Flutti wall-mount vanity features hand-crafted fluted detailing wrapping every drawer front, rounded corners, and an integrated under-counter sink that reads as seamless from above. Available in 24″, 30″, 36″, 48″, 60″, and 72″ widths — single or double sink — with coordinating mirrors, storage cabinets, towel bars, robe hooks, a pedestal sink, and a freestanding fluted tub, the Flutti is one of the most complete bathroom design languages we offer, available in gloss white, matte white, and matte black.
