California Faucets
Handcrafted in Huntington Beach, One Faucet at a Time
There's a particular kind of plumbing manufacturer that runs more like a craft shop than a factory — where every faucet is built to order, where the finish was applied by hand that morning, and where the family that founded the company in 1988 still has its name on the door. That's California Faucets, and it's the reason we made it a foundation of the bath and kitchen collection at European Kitchen & BathWorks.
Fred Silverstein started the company with what was, at the time, a radical idea in American plumbing: that a faucet shouldn't have to be picked from whatever was sitting in a warehouse. It should be made the way the customer wanted it — their finish, their handle, their spout — and built locally, on a real timeline, by people who would actually answer the phone if something went wrong. Three decades later, California Faucets is the only independently owned custom faucet company in the United States, still run by the Silverstein family, and still building every piece in their Huntington Beach factory.
That craft-shop approach has earned recognition that's hard to manufacture. In 2025, StarCraft Reviews — the oldest independent reviewer of plumbing products in the country — named California Faucets "Best Value Faucet — North American Luxury" for the second consecutive review cycle, citing exceptional craftsmanship, warranty strength, and post-sale service.
What makes them an easy specification choice is the range of customization. Over 25 artisan finishes. Mix-and-match handles and spouts across more than forty collections. Living finishes that patina with age. Powder coats in the colors most lines won't quote. PVD finishes molecularly bonded to the brass, backed by a lifetime warranty against tarnishing. Designers and architects can specify a faucet that exists nowhere else — and have it built and shipped from California rather than waiting on a container from Europe.
The product news has been steady. The new Capitola™ 87 Series debuts a softer, sculptural bath silhouette for 2026. COTO™, their first outdoor kitchen faucet, brings marine-grade 316 stainless steel to outdoor kitchens — increasingly relevant for Atlanta builders working on covered patios and cabanas. The Grab Bar with Adjustable Handshower quietly solves a real problem in primary baths designed for long-term living, combining two fixtures into one elegant element. The San Elijo® Series added a high-arc spout with optional teak wood handles for transitional projects.
Beyond the new releases, the innovations that built the brand still anchor the line: ZeroDrain®, the world's first pop-down drain. StyleTherm®, their thermostatic shower system. StyleDrain® linear drains. The kitchen squeeze handle that turns a pull-down spout into a one-handed sprayer.
For the homeowner, California Faucets is what you specify when you want something that isn't on the shelf at every other showroom in town — a faucet built specifically for your home, in a finish you helped choose, by people who still take pride in calling themselves a manufacturer.
The full line is on display in our Atlanta showroom. Stop in to handle the finishes, feel the weight of the brass, and explore what custom actually means.
